Tunnel Speeches is the first entry in a multi-phase collaborative project featuring Jonathan Smith (drums) and Michael DiSanto (guitar). At the foundation is a body of improvised experiments in reversed guitar/drum relationships, shifting dissonances, and extended multi-layered grooves. Musician and artist John Whitlock expands the scope, adding his own fractured melodicism by way of found voices, captured sounds, and synthetic textures.

Stitched and collaged, Tunnel Speeches reflects the deep influence of Miles Davis and Teo Macero, especially their work on In a Silent Way and On the Corner.
